Do I have to make an appointment for conducting the tests?
No, in our laboratory we do not handle dating system, you only presented and requests for analysis to the receptionist.

How many hours should I be fasting for blood tests?
For tests such as glucose (sugar) 8-hour fast. For lipid profile you need 12 hours of fasting.
Should I go to the Clinical Laboratory fasting whenever I need to perform some kind of analysis?
Preferably yes, especially for glycemia and lipid profile. However, there are studies that fasting is not necessary, so if you have any doubts, before visiting our laboratory, contact us and we will tell you what are the recommendations that you should take into consideration before any test.
If I take a cup of coffee without sugar, take a bubble gum or other sugar-free foods, Am I still fasting?
The patient does not follow fasting if this type of beverage, food or gum is consumed. Fasting is strict. Only water does not break this state and if consumed should be in moderation.
What is lipid profile?
It is the test that shows the status of lipids (fats) in the body and is composed of total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol (good cholesterol), LDL-cholesterol, VLDL-cholesterol (bad cholesterol) and triglycerides.
What conditions need it for urinalysis?
We recommend collect the first morning urine, but not indispensable. Should thoroughly clean the genitals, discard the first portion of urine and collect the rest of the sample, in addition, the bottle must be clean and labeled with your full name. Preferably if you collect your urine in laboratory baths with the container we deliver.
I want to do routine tests. what do you recommend?
For a general check, glycemia, lipid profile, uric acid, blood count, urinalysis and stool examination it is recommended. For men over 40 years Prostate Specific Antigen (total PSA) and older than 30 years (men and women) test TSH (thyroid hormone) is suggested.
How often should I have a routine test in the laboratory?
It is appropriate to perform lab tests at least once a year, or within that according to their health status, as determined by your doctor.
What tests check are recommended for children?
Children over 5 years: blood count, blood sugar, urinalysis, stool examination is recommended. Children under 5 years: blood count, urine and feces. If your child has special health situation, the child’s doctor will indicate the analysis to be performed.
To rule out the presence of parasites, what is recommended?
There must be a general examination of stool.
Is the material that is used to take samples safe?
Yes, all the material used in the laboratory for blood sampling, as needles, tubes, syringes, etc., are always new, sterile, are discarded after use.

When do I get my test results?
